Poem: ‘Together’ by Carolyn Chorley

A touch so gentle and tender

With a sigh your heart must surrender

And the delicate threads of your lonely soul

Are gathered to knit your spirit whole.

This love, this passion, only now found

Once wrapped so tightly, now unbound

To freely flow to the universe and you

And then to the heavens it but flew.

The gossamer threads gathered by true love’s hands

Are entwined into the strongest strands

And so none shall be able to tear apart

What now I keep safe within my heart.

  1. This poem hooked me from the very start and gently and wonderfully took me through to the ending. So elegantly and beautifully painted!!!! I will have to warn you now that I have a Word Bank and I have made a deposit into your account for the following lines –
“A touch so gentle and tender

With a sigh your heart must surrender

And the delicate threads of your lonely soul

Are gathered to knit your spirit whole.”
    and

“The gossamer threads gathered by true love’s hands

Are entwined into the strongest strands

And so none shall be able to tear apart

What now I keep safe within my heart.”

Loved the threads of the soul concept! So, hopefully in the near future you will earn dividends earned by having your words/phrases or ideas used as an inspiration for a poem of mine!!

Your work here is so very eloquent! Thanks for sharing! Come visit me???

      1. A Word Bank is a place, file, pad of paper, where you store words and phrases, titles or ideas that really hit you as inspiration for a poem or article. When you hear or see something that makes you go “Wow, or Ahh” then you can enter it in your Word Bank with the person from which you received it. That way when you get a poem you can give them inspirational credit and tell them you are depositing Gold Stars in their account!
